			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="for_para discontinue">En los últimos días se están registrando altas concentraciones de polen de cupresáceas en Madrid, según ha informado la Estación de Aerobiología de la Sociedad Española de Alergología e Inmunología Clínica (SEAIC). El coordinador del Comité de Aerobiología de la SEAIC, el Dr. Javier Subiza, ha manifestado que &#8220;las concentraciones actuales de este tipo de polen de ciprés superan ya las del año pasado, puesto que hemos alcanzado los 600 granos por metro cúbico de polen de cupresáceas en la atmósfera madrileña, mientras que en 2006, el índice máximo recogido fue 448 granos por metro cúbico, lo que supone un incremento importante&#8221;.</p>
<p class="for_para">Este tipo de alergeno, que principalmente desprenden los cipreses y las arizónicas, ocupa el tercer puesto entre los principales pólenes causantes de alergia en Madrid. Subiza explicó que &#8220;aunque sus concentraciones no han experimentado variaciones significativas desde 1997, sí ha aumentado el número de pacientes sensibilizados a esta clase de polen&#8221;. &#8220;Mientras que en 1995 -añadió-, la prevalencia era de un 23%, en la actualidad alcanza al 58% de los pacientes alérgicos al polen. Este ascenso progresivo también ha coincidido con el aumento en el número de coches diesel en Madrid&#8221;.</p>
<p class="for_para">Asimismo, las altas temperaturas y fuertes rachas de viento favorecen los efectos alérgicos. Además, el suave invierno está provocando que las cupresáceas experimenten, desde enero, una auténtica explosión. Por esta razón, síntomas como rinitis, conjuntivitis y asma comienzan a aparecer entre la población adelantándose a la primavera. Sin embargo, a pesar de la extensión de estas afecciones, pocos alérgicos reciben tratamiento específico. Según los expertos, muchos afectados recurren a la automedicación con antihistamínicos, una práctica &#8220;poco aconsejable&#8221;.</p>
<p class="for_para">&#8220;Los pacientes afectados por este tipo de alergia -explicó el doctor Subiza- deben saber que disponen de inmunoterapia subcutánea y sublingual frente al polen de gramíneas, la opción más eficaz&#8221;. &#8220;Además, se recomienda evitar parques y otras áreas donde proliferen&#8221;, concluyó.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>La Fundación Sanitas ha convocado la <strong>XII edición del Premio Sanitas al mejor Médico Interno Residente (M.I.R.) del año 2008</strong>, el único galardón de esta naturaleza que existe en España. El Premio Sanitas supone un reconocimiento a la importancia y aportación del sistema M.I.R. a la formación médica especializada en nuestro país.</p>
<p align="justify">En esta convocatoria se han recibido 44 candidaturas de los mejores hospitales y centros acreditados para la formación M.I.R. a nivel nacional. Estas candidaturas serán valoradas por un jurado designado por el Consejo Nacional de Especialidades en Ciencias de la Salud y compuesto por nueve miembros, entre los que se encuentran representantes de este organismo y los ministerios de Sanidad y Educación.</p>
<p align="justify">El acto de entrega del Premio tendrá lugar el próximo 27 de noviembre en Madrid.</p>
